Every child has the right to grow and realize their potential—even when their childhood has been shattered by war.Every child has the right to grow and realize their potential—even when their childhood has been shattered by war.
This truth forms the foundation of the approach developed by psychologist and educator Kseniya Oranska.
She created the project “Ukraine in a Backpack”—a special space where traveling across Ukraine, quests, educational activities, sports, and psychological support, along with unique learning materials and creative tasks, become not just tools for education, but also medicine for the soul for children.

Kseniya Oranska’s idea touched the heart of the founder of The Eneida Foundation and found a warm response among British donors. Thanks to their trust and support, the project came to life—today, 24 children have the chance to continue learning in a creative format, explore new horizons of understanding, connect with their culture, and feel that both the United Kingdom and Ukraine care for them.
Special thanks go to our consistent Ukrainian partners—the charitable foundations Children of Heroes and BGV—who actively joined in bringing this project to life.
The support of these Ukrainian partners and our British donors has made “Ukraine in a Backpack” not just an educational program, but a true symbol of hope.

Each “backpack journey” is a small window into a world where a child can dream again, learn, and believe in their future. We are grateful to everyone who helped open these windows for Ukrainian children.
